Collective Mind is excited to expand our global community of consultants working with us and networks around the world. Collective Mind supports networks to become more effective and impactful through our niche focus and expertise in networks practice, strategy, and design. We are grounded by the power of collective action and our belief in networks as a unique, practical organizational model for collective impact.
We partner with networks to provide an array of advisory and capacity building services, from traditional consulting projects to strategic advisory support and packaged tools and services. We also host an active learning community for network practitioners focused on knowledge and skill building, peer learning, and professional development.

Associates Overview
Associates are contractors with diverse skills and expertise, including experience with networks, coalitions, or other multi-stakeholder collaborations. Through Collective Mind, Associates will participate on teams or lead on consulting projects with networks across sectors, regions, issue areas, and technical fields. Projects may range from short-term to long-term, part-time to full-time, team-based or individual. Associates possess skills and experience in consulting and project management to be effective as independent contractors. Associates will receive support from Collective Mind to ground their work in our shared values, tools, and approach, and will also gain access to a network of professional peers, skill development, and visibility opportunities.
Examples of the types of potential opportunities you could expect:
A 10-day consulting project designing a network membership strategy
A 5-month, part-time contract to undertake a network impact evaluation
A part-time contract helping with administration, coordination, and facilitation for a network’s annual general meeting or planning retreat
Become an Associate
We are currently seeking Associates with specific regional knowledge and linguistic backgrounds to immediately join us for upcoming projects and future opportunities. Applicants must be available to work as independent contractors.
We are especially eager to hear from individuals with any of the relevant criteria:
Currently based in Latin America (or extensive experience working in the region)
Currently based in Nairobi, Dakar, or other major hubs and cities in Africa
Professional language skills in either Arabic, French, or Spanish
Other required skills and experience:
Currently or experienced in working an independent contractor, with availability and flexibility to take on project-based work
Experience collaborating on proposals and responding to RFPs
Demonstrated commitment to Collective Mind’s core values
Professional English proficiency required
Possible skills and experience (not an exhaustive list):
Strategy design and/or strategic planning
Impact evaluation or organizational evaluation/assessment
Project management, especially of complex multi-stakeholder projects
Proposal development and writing
Communications and stakeholder engagement
Facilitation and convening
Professional qualities:
Problem solver, diligent self-starter, reliable, and systems thinker
Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines under pressure, be responsive to clients and teams, and juggle competing demands
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to proactively and collaboratively build solutions to meet client expectations
Exceptional communication and client management skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and business correspondence.
Additional opportunities as an Associate (optional):
Designing, organizing, or facilitating activities or trainings with Collective Mind’s learning community
Developing blogs about network practice areas or technical topics
Joining or helping facilitate global practitioner working groups around different network topics
Occasionally participating in calls aimed at planning and ideation, knowledge exchange, business development, networking, and community building among our network of Associates
