Virtual Summer Camp will take place over two weeks from Monday to Friday of each week. The curriculum will focus on networks during the first week and on network management during the second week

The full Virtual Summer Camp schedule is below. Activities during camp include: 

  • Opening and closing sessions

  • Pre-recorded video lessons

  • All-camp plenary discussion sessions

  • Learning circle meetups* 

  • Exercises for reflection and action planning in the trail guide (to be provided 1 week prior)

  • Bonus expert webinars** on network-related topics (e.g. network mapping, knowledge management)

The anticipated time commitment for camp is approximately 10-12 hours over the two weeks.

Summer Camp is designed to be flexible and accessible to accommodate campers’ workloads, time zones, and schedules.
The schedule below is set up for campers to join the sessions and complete the activities that they prioritize, on a schedule that works for them. This means: 

  • Live sessions will be offered at multiple times. Pick an option that works for you or join them all if you’d like. 

  • All live sessions will be recorded and made available immediately afterward. 

  • Learning circles will set their own times for meeting based on what works best for each circle’s members.*  

  • Campers will have access to all materials through the end of August to catch up on anything they missed. 


WEEK 1

Day 1 (Monday, July 13th)

  • 10:00 US EDT: Welcome to Virtual Summer Camp! (live 30-minute kick-off session)

  • Meet your learning circle (30-45-minute introductory call) 


Day 2 (Tuesday, July 14th) 

  • Watch the series of video lessons on networks (approximately 1 hour of total viewing time)

  • Review the Summer Camp trail guide exercises on networks (approximately 30 minutes)


Day 3 (Wednesday, July 15th)

  • 9:00 am US EDT: All-Camp discussion on networks (live 1-hour plenary discussion, option time #1)


Day 4 (Thursday, July 16th)

  • 11:00 am US EDT: Expert Session on Knowledge Management (live 1-hour with and Q&A)

  • 3:00 pm US EDT: All-Camp discussion on networks (live 1-hour plenary discussion, optional time #2)

  • Learning circles meet TBD* (30-60-minute call) 


Day 5 (Friday, July 17th)

  • Complete trail guide exercise on networks (approximately 30 minutes) 

  • Learning circles meet TBD* (30-60-minute call) 

 

WEEK 2

Day 8 (Wednesday, July 22nd)

  • 11:00 am US EDT: Expert Session on Network Mapping (live 1-hour talk with Q&A)

  • 3:00 pm US EDT: All-Camp discussion on network management (live 1-hour plenary discussion, optional time #2)

  • Learning circles meet TBD* (30-60-minute call) 


Day 9 (Thursday, July 23rd)

  • Complete trail guide exercises on network management (approximately 30 minutes) 

  • Learning circles meet TBD* (30-60-minute call) 


Day 10 (Friday, July 24th)

  • 10:00 am US EDT: Closing ceremony! Reflections at the campfire (live 30-60-minute closing session)

 


*Note on learning circles
: We would expect the learning circles to meet a total of 2-3 times over the course of the two weeks. Potential days for learning circles to meet have been noted as TBD (to be determined) in the schedule. The learning circles themselves will determine when and how much they’d like to meet during Summer Camp.
