Networks in Action: Ways of working for network managers

Join us for this upcoming two-part Networks in Action to reflect on your ways of working either as a single network manager or a team of network managers.

We will unpack this topic via two one-hour interactive sessions, working through a series of reflective exercises and building out the concept by crowdsourcing ideas and experiences. The sessions will occur on Wednesday, November 29th and Wednesday, December 6th at 10am - 11am US ET.

We will discuss how to:

  • Ensure a clear, shared mission to best support your members and network.

  • Determine how to focus and what to spend time on.

  • Set boundaries and parameters around your work and that of members.

  • Consider differentiation of roles and staffing structures to avoid or break down silos between team members.

  • Approach your work with a constructive mindset and build an effective organizational culture within your network management team.

  • Manage change and respond to emergence within your network.

We will use a modified “What, So What, Now What?” format to build a shared definition of the concept (“what”), articulate how that concept applies in practice for us (“so what”), and consider what this all means going forward (“now what”).

During the first session, we will focus on the “what” and begin to explore the “so what”. During the second session, we will further explore the “so what” and move into the “now what” to identify key takeaways.

We will provide a template to guide your reflections during and after the sessions.
